Block Island is a wonderful treasure. I have lots of experience with weddings and Block Island. I was married on the island in 2000 myself! I am intimately familiar what is involved getting to the magical little island off the coast of RI. It does take a little effort to get to which my wonderful assistant Linda discovered as I picked her up at 6:00 am for the 3 hour car ride and the early morning not so smooth ferry ride. Once we landed on the island we scoped out the amazing locations where we would be photographing the bride and groom and we knew immediately it was going to be a breathtaking event. The afternoon of the wedding we headed over to a historic cottage just outside of town where Bobby was getting ready. The house, was a beautiful Block Island style shingled home with a terrific wrap around porch and lovely gardens. It was a stunning day with not a cloud in the sky. Meanwhile, Sasha got dressed nearby at Ballards where we would soon pick her up for a first look with her groom.

It was off to Mohegan Bluffs with Bobby and Sasha – 150-foot sheer cliffs overlooking the sea. The photos we took were nothing short of breathtaking. Then it was off to the ceremony at Ballards overlooking the ocean. It was a special ceremony with many family members involved.  Bobby serenading a song to Sasha set the tone for the evening. The reception was tons of fun and the food served was phenomenal. Bobby and Sasha had 117 wonderful guests at they're wedding enjoying all that the island has to offer and joining them in their celebration of their union. Linda and I luckily got an opportunity to get some photos of the sunset outside of Ballard’s where Sasha and Bobby got to have a quiet moment to enjoy the views and each other before they danced and partied with their guests!

Last weekend I got the opportunity to take family photos of the Bean Family. I have gotten to know the family over the last year. Our daughters are best friends. We had a beautiful day at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. We were lucky to have the amazing autumn leaves as our back drop. It was a cool day, the kind of day you want to tuck your hands into your soft pink sweater to keep warm. Meghan and Sarah were delightful girls with golden strawberry blond hair and charming smiles. It was a true pleasure to spend time with the family and capture some special moments.

     I have known the Dore family for many years. We became family friends when I moved to West Newbury with my husband 13 years ago. Grace would have been 4 years old. Now she is a beautiful young woman about to begin a new chapter in her life. It was a pleasure to shoot Grace's senior photos. We lucked out with a terrific day.  The weather and natural lighting were perfect. We started the shoot at the rivers edge in West Newbury. Grace has grown up boating and the river has been a place she has spent a lot of time with friends and family. We then traveled to Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. It was the perfect backdrop to capture the exceptional moment of time of a young woman about to begin a new chapter in her life. I am so thankful Grace shared this treasured day with me. A gorgeous snapshot in time.

     Grace has told me she would like to attend The University of Virginia. Currently she is hard at work as a hostess in the evenings and serving customers at a farm stand during the day. She is very active in sports at Pentucket High School. Grace participates in soccer, lacrosse, and indoor track.  I wish Grace all the success and happiness in the coming years.
